Another snowy day on area highways
KAMLOOPS — Another winter storm is expected to hit Interior highways over the next 24 hours. Winter storm warnings are out for the Coquihalla Highway from Hope to Merritt and highway 3 on the Hope-Princeton.
The traveller’s forecast for the Coquihalla between Hope and Merritt shows snow, at times heavy, and lots of blowing snow. 15 centimeters of the white stuff are expected today. More heavy snow tonight with another 15 centimeters expected. Flurries tomorrow. Lesser amounts of snow are forecast for the other sections of the Coquihalla. Limited visibility and heavy snowfall from Hope up past the Zopkios brake check right through almost to Merritt.
On the Trans Canada between Eagle Pass and the Rogers Pass, 10 centimeters of snow and gusty winds are expected today, another 5-10 centimeters tonight, and 2-4 centimeters tomorrow. Snow falling this morning from Sicamous East.
