KAMLOOPS — A federal grant will help the Kamloops Heritage Railway (KHR) spruce up its offerings this year.
According to Executive Director Cory Clark, KHR has received an $80,000 grant through Ottawa’s Canadian Economic Recovery Infrastructure Program (CERIP).
In a news release, Clark says the funds will be used to help transform “a decommissioned railcar to convert into a replica of a 1930’s CN Railcar [c]lassroom.” The railcar classroom will help facilitate the KHR education program, in conjunction with local schools.
Clark adds some of the funds will also go toward building a kiosk that will help KHR host backshop tours.
