Blazers reduce to three overage players.
KAMLOOPS —- The Kamloops Blazers have played 20-year-old forward Brodi Stuart on the injured list for the upcoming season. Stuart suffered a season-ending knee injury in January. The Langley, BC native will stay with the hockey club for the upcoming season as an Assistant Coach.
“Brodi had suffered an off season injury that required surgery and the timeline for his rehab would not allow him to play this season,” said General Manager, Matt Bardsley. “In discussing with our Head Coach, Shaun Clouston we decided to place Brodi on the Injured List and ask him to stay with us as an Assistant Coach for the 2020-2021 season.”
Stuart was selected by the Blazers in the fourth round of the 2015 WHL Bantam Draft. In parts of four seasons with the hockey club, the Langley, BC native had 115 points in 204 games.
“Brodi has been a Blazer since he was drafted and has been an integral –art of our team in all areas,” continued Bardsley. “We felt this was a positive way that he could continue with us and assist our coaching staff. We are fortunate to have a strong group of 20 year old players in Orrin, Montana and Sean.”
