KAMLOOPS — Interior Health (IH) officials say a cluster of COVID-19 cases in the Williams Lake area has been contained.

The cluster cropped up after New Year’s Day, growing to 421 cases before being declared contained Tuesday (Feb. 23).

IH says four new cases have been detected in the past four days, but of the 33 active cases within the cluster, all are in self-isolation. A total of 388 people in the cluster are considered fully recovered.

In a news release, IH says the declaration of containment can be made “[g]iven the decline in cases and manageable COVID-19 circulation”.
