KAMLOOPS — B.C. has picked up a much needed first win at the Scotties.

The Corryn Brown rink from Kamloops defeated Nunavut 11-2 on Monday afternoon.

B.C. has two games tomorrow —- against wild card Tracy Fleury in the morning — that rink is being skipped by Chelsea Carey.

Fleury isn’t participating in the Scotties in order to care for her infant daughter, who has health issues.

Tomorrow night B.C. will play Newfoundland.

At 1-and-2 B.C. is still on the outside of the top four that will make the championship round.

Quebec, Chelsea Carey’s wild card and PEI are at 3-and-1.

Saskatchewan and Newfoundland are both 2-and-1 with Jennifer Jones and Manitoba at 2-and-2 and then B.C. 1-and-2.

New Brunswick is 0-and-3 and Nunavut 0-and-4.

In pool A it’s defending champion Kerry Einarson 4-and-0.

Rachel Homan and Ontario are also undefeated at 3-and-0, with Alberta 3-and-1 and Nova Scotia 2-and-2 rounding out the top four.
