Two more deaths from Royal Inland Hospital COVID-19 outbreak

KAMLOOPS — Interior Health (IH) says two more people have died in connection with a COVID-19 outbreak at Royal Inland Hospital (RIH).

IH updated outbreak totals in an email to media Friday afternoon (Feb. 19).

It shows three deaths now associated with the RIH outbreak, up from one previously. IH says there are 10 active cases at the hospital and 105 cases total.

None of the four outbreaks in Kamloops grew Friday.

The Highride Home and Singh House outbreak is still at 13 cases with four active.

Eight cases remain active at Westsyde Care Residence, where there have been 30 total cases.

And the outbreak at Gemstone Care Centre in Brocklehurst is stable at 32 cases, with five still active.
