KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP are distributing a surveillance photo of a suspect in a long weekend armed robbery.

In a news release, Cst. Crystal Evelyn says the incident happened at 8:20 p.m. last Saturday (Feb. 13) in a business in the 1000-block of Hillside Drive.

An employee reported a confrontation with a woman trying to steal hundreds of dollars worth of merchandise, resulting in the woman chasing the employee through the store with a hammer. Allegedly, the woman also tried to stab the employee.

Officers patrolled the area and found video surveillance, but have yet to track down their suspect.

“We are releasing the suspect’s image in hopes that someone identifies her or better still, she does the right thing and turns herself in,” said Evelyn.
