Kamloops Mountie to take a chilly plunge for Special Olympics B.C.
KAMLOOPS — Normally, Kamloops RCMP would advise you to stay out of the river at this time of year. But one local Mountie will take a dip voluntarily — if he reaches his fundraising goal.
Sgt. Brandon Buliziuk is raising money to support the B.C. branch of Special Olympics, an organization that helps those with intellectual disabilities.
If Buliziuk reaches $2,000 in the coming weeks, he will plunge into the icy Thompson River on March 7.
The Polar Plunge for Special Olympics B.C. is typically an event in which participants gather together. This year’s event will see brave swimmers participating in different locations, thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic.
