B.C. averages 383 new COVID-19 cases per day over long weekend, just 23 per day in Interior Health
VICTORIA — B.C. has come out of the long weekend with fewer active cases of COVID-19, and slowed spread within Interior Health.
In a media briefing Tuesday (Feb. 16), Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry revealed that B.C. recorded 1,533 new cases of COVID-19 over the past four days — 452 on Saturday, 431 on Sunday, 348 on Family Day Monday and 302 on Tuesday. The average over the weekend was 383 new cases per day.
In Interior Health, there were 92 new cases found — an average of 23 per day.
The province-wide case count for COVID-19 is now 74,283 since the pandemic began in B.C., spread out as follows:
