Kamloops Mountie injured, suspect arrested after downtown shoplifting report
KAMLOOPS — A Kamloops RCMP member has been injured after responding to a downtown shoplifting report.
According to Cst. Crystal Evelyn, RCMP were called to the 400-block of Lansdowne Street at around 2:17 p.m. for a theft in progress. The suspect was being followed on foot by the person who made the complaint.
Evelyn says the man was described as wearing camo jogging pants, a jacket and a grey hoodie.
A frontline officer responded, but shortly after called for backup, saying he was injured.
