Province records 469 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday; 46 in the Interior

VICTORIA — Another 469 cases of COVID-19 were reported in B.C. Wednesday (Feb. 10), including 46 in the Interior.

Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry says in a release today, there are 4,305 active cases of COVID-19 in the province.

The new cases bring B.C.’s total to 71,856 cases since the pandemic arrived in the province. The cases are spread out as follows:

  • 16,515 — Vancouver Coastal (up by 100)
  • 42,668 — Fraser Health (up by 243)
  • 1,916 — Island Health (up by 25)
  • 6,814 — Interior Health (up by 46)
  • 3,902 — Northern Health (up by 53)
  • 146 — Reside outside of Canada (up by 2)

There are 230 patients in hospital and 66 in intensive care. Six more people have died of the virus, bringing the province’s death toll to 1,269. There are 6,820 people under public health surveillance due to direct COVID-19 contact.

A total of 66,167 people have been declared fully recovered or 92 per cent of all recorded cases.

Henry notes 157,797 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered to British Columbians, including 14,316 second doses.
