Downtown stabbing sends one to hospital in Quesnel

QUESNEL — One person is in hospital following a stabbing in Quesnel.

Quesnel RCMP Sgt. Richard Weseen says police responded to the incident yesterday (Feb.9) afternoon at approximately 3:40 p.m.

“Quesnel RCMP responded to the 100 block of Carson Avenue after receiving a 9-1-1 call that someone was being stabbed,” he says. “When the police arrived, they located one man who had sustained several stab wounds.”

Weseen says the injured man was transported to hospital in serious condition though his injuries are not considered to be life-threatening.

He says the suspect was taken into custody at the scene without incident. Weseen says the names of the suspect and the victim are not being released at this time.
