Charlie Puth has been shortlisted for an Oscar.
According to Stereogum, the singer’s “Free” from Netflix’s The One And Only Ivan is one of fifteen songs likely to receive an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Song.
Christina Agulera’s “Loyal Brave Tue” from Mulan, Janelle Monáe’s “Turntables” from All In: The Fight For Democracy, Mary J. Blige’s “See What You’ve Done” from Belly Of The Beast, and John Legend’s “Never Break” from Giving Voice, also made the list.
The Academy Awards won’t reveal their nominees until after the Gold Globes’ ceremony on February 28th. This year’s Oscars ceremony is scheduled to take place April 25.
