Royal Inland Hospital COVID-19 outbreak stable with no new cases Monday

KAMLOOPS — Interior Health (IH) says there are no new COVID-19 cases connected to the outbreak at Royal Inland Hospital (RIH) Monday (Feb. 8).

In a news release, IH says there remain 102 cases at RIH — 36 patients and 66 staff. One death is associated to the outbreak and 46 cases remain active.

At the Westsyde Care Residence group home, the outbreak is now at 26 cases — 14 residents and 12 staff. Twenty-four of those cases are still active.

And at the Gemstone Care Centre in Brocklehurst, the outbreak remains at 25 cases — 17 residents and eight staff. Only two of those cases remain active and there have been two deaths associated to the Gemstone outbreak.
