Nearly $40,000 in firefighting equipment stolen near Merritt
MERRITT, B.C. — Tens of thousands of dollars in firefighting equipment was stolen near Nicola Lake last week.
As many as three fire pumps and associated accessories, including a wagon full of nozzles and hoses, were taken from the outbuilding. The owners estimate the total value of items taken was upwards of $40,000.
RCMP was notified of a break and enter to a locked storage shed on a property along Old Nicola Trail near Merritt on Tuesday, Feb. 2 shortly after 9:00 a.m.
A property representative noted the door to the storage shed was slightly open, and discovered the lock had been cut and access was gained.
