KAMLOOPS — A gun seizure executed near Nelson last week had its origins with a Kamloops RCMP investigation.
In a news release, Cst. Crystal Evelyn says a Kamloops man arrested in November was in possession of a gun in violation of release conditions.
The local detachment’s Targeted Enforcement Unit (TEU) employed the assistance of the National Weapons Enforcement Support Team. They found the gun had been purchased a short time earlier by a former Kamloops resident now living near Nelson.
RCMP in Nelson obtained a warrant and searched the suspect’s home last Thursday (Feb. 4), finding three more guns, all loaded and in the open.
