MERRITT — Motorists headed for the Coquihalla Highway today (Feb. 6) are being cautioned with a snowfall warning for the mountain pass.

Environment Canada has issued a warning for the Hope to Merritt stretch of the highway, and the Hope to Princeton via Allison Pass section on Highway 3.

Heavy snow with total amounts of 20 to 30 cm is expected. The weather forecaster says a pacific frontal system is moving through southern B.C this morning that will bring snow to several areas of the region.

Drivers are reminded that visibility may be suddenly reduced in heavy snow, and poor weather conditions may lead to transportation delays.
