KAMLOOPS — A Kamloops man has been charged with mischief after several fires were set in the downtown last week.

Cst. Crystal Evelyn of Kamloops RCMP says on Wednesday afternoon last week (Jan. 27), officers were called to a building in the 400-block of Victoria St. for the report of a man setting fires.

The remnants of a small fire were found and investigators obtained the suspect’s name and description from a witness.

Evelyn says about one hour later, police were called to the 100-block of Fourth Avenue for a man “allegedly interfering with traffic in a parking lot and (who) had a small fire lit.”
