Unique lamp starts small fire in Kamloops home — and electricity was not involved
KAMLOOPS — Kamloops Fire Rescue (KFR) has a warning for the public after a near-catastrophe started by a unique lamp.
Earlier in the day Wednesday (Feb. 3), a KFR investigator went into a home where a fire nearly started.
The lamp, with a base made of clear spheres, had been placed near a window. Sunlight pouring through the window refracted through one of the spheres onto a piece of paper sitting beside the lamp and causing the paper to ignite.
