Upper Nicola confirms three new COVID-19 cases
UPPER NICOLA, B.C. — The Upper Nicola Band has confirmed three new cases of COVID-19 within the community.
According to a letter distributed to band members on Monday, written by Chief Harvey McLeod and EOC Director Collette Sunday, the band received notice on Sunday from the First Nations Health Authority (FNHA) confirming the new cases.
“During these trying times it’s important for us to stay kind to one another and help each other out if possible,” said Chief McLeod in a video message to the band.
“It’s nobody’s fault but it starting to get too close and we need to be cognitive of the dangers. The dangers to our elders and the danger to our families,” added McLeod. “Let’s not take our guard down and feel that I’m not going to be affected, impacted, we don’t know that.”
