Fire at Kamloops Ramada Inn sends one person to hospital
KAMLOOPS – A fire at the Ramada Inn on West Columbia Street has sent one person to Royal Inland Hospital.
Kamloops Fire Rescue (KFR) received the fire call shortly after 6:00 pm Sunday evening. 14 firefighters in four trucks arrived to find flames and smoke coming from one room.
Acting Platoon Captain Jim Gorman says one person was in the room. The individual was sent to hospital with injuries however the extent of the individual’s injuries is not known.
KFR says the fire caused significant damage to the room. The room is located on the top floor in the back wing of the hotel. Those who were staying in the wing, have been moved to the main section of the hotel.
