Nominations for Glaad Awards

Sam Smith, Lady Gaga, Halsey, and Miley Cyrus are among the nominees for the 32nd annual GLAAD Media Awards’ Outstanding Music Artist category.

GLAAD also introduced a new music category for the 2021 ceremony.  According to a press release, The new Outstanding Breakthrough Music Artist award recognizes LGBTQ artists who have achieved a breakthrough in the music industry during the year 2020 and “whose songs, music videos, or live performances have made a significant impact on LGBTQ visibility and acceptance.”

Actress Josie Totah, drag star Shangela, and actor Jonathan Bennett announced the nominees on TikTok Thursday (January 28th).
