KAMLOOPS — RCMP say the driver of a burgundy pickup truck may hold the key to solving a downtown Kamloops arson investigation.

On November 28, 2020, at about 2:17 a.m., RCMP were called to a construction site at Sixth Avenue and Lansdowne Street. A witness had seen sparks coming from a construction site at that location, followed by a man running down the road with a jerry can. The witness also heard a vehicle leaving the area.

Kamloops Fire Rescue personnel put out two smouldering fires on the second floor of the building.

Surveillance footage from the area showed a vehicle arriving and leaving from the area several times. It’s believed to be a burgundy Ford F-250 or F-350 pickup truck with a unique boat or lumber rack and with the driver’s side headlight burned out.
