Panicked deer escorted out of Westsyde home after entering through dog door
KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP responded to a home invasion of a different kind last weekend.
According to Cst. Crystal Evelyn, distressed homeowners in the 900-block of Pine Springs Road in Westsyde called RCMP on Saturday after a deer entered the home through a small dog door.
The panicked animal was jumping at the home’s fireplace and window, trying to escape, and ended up damaging the family’s television and other items in its flailing.
Responding officers covered the animal’s head with a blanket, held it down, placed a rug beneath it and slid the deer out of the home.
