KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Music Collective (KMC) is gearing up to provide several new programs for the city’s youth this month.

KMC says starting January 19 it will be hosting “Super Happy Awesome News” – an online musical theatre program for students interested in developing their performance skills. The online course is open to all skill levels and every participant will play a part in the final production. (Click here to access registration)

The collective’s online family ukulele classes also kick off this month between January 25 and March 5. The 6 week program provides families with ukuleles and other necessary materials, with 30 minute lessons once per week.

The course is catered for families with children over 7 years old, and no experience is needed. The cost is $149 per family, and registration is available through this link.

And during spring break in March, KMC will be hosting “Set the Stage!” – which gives children the chance to try new instruments, musical theatre, set design and learn more about what they’re passionate about. The program is modelled after Kamloops Interior Summer School of Music (KISSM) courses, and students will get to take part in a performance of Matilda.

The week long program runs from March 15 to 19, and registration can be done online. (click here)
