Updated: Power restored for majority of BC Hydro customers hit with morning outages

KAMLOOPS — UPDATED 6:57 a.m : BC Hydro says power is back on for the Upper Sahali, Aberdeen, Knutsford, and Valleyview areas that were impacted by morning outages today (Jan. 13).

PREVIOUS 6:07 a.m : BC Hydro says crews are working to restore power to more than 8,000 people in the Thompson – Shuswap region this morning (Jan. 13).

According to the latest outage mapping, 8,113 between 100 Mile House, Kamloops, Merritt, and Salmon Arm are without power as of this morning.

In Kamloops, 1,895 people are experiencing an outage in the Upper Sahali, Aberdeen, and Knutsford areas, while another 765 customers are in the dark in Valleyview and along Shuswap Road.

So far there’s no cause listed on BC Hydro’s website, or a time estimate for when power will be restored. CFJC Today will update this story when more information becomes available.
