Woman escapes early morning carjacking attempt in Dallas

KAMLOOPS — RCMP are looking for more information after an attempted carjacking in the Dallas area early Monday morning (Jan. 11).

In a release, Cst. Crystal Evelyn says it happened at about 2:25 a.m. along Kokanee Way.

A woman was sleeping in her car when she was awoken by a man who told her he was taking the vehicle.

A struggle ensued and the woman was assaulted, but she was able to break free and drive away.

• Wearing a black baseball hat with flat black brim, white front, two or three diagonal stripes and a red emblem

The suspect, along with an accomplice, left the scene in an older K-Car, black, tan or gold in colour, with a flat rear window.
