Kamloops RCMP identify distracted driver who fled Tranquille Road collision scene
KAMLOOPS — Police in Kamloops say they’ve caught up with a man who walked away from a two vehicle collision on the city’s north shore yesterday (Jan. 9).
In a release, RCMP Staff Sgt. Mat Van Laer says around 12:05 p.m Saturday, police responded to a rear-ending collision along Tranquille Road and Yew Street.
Both vehicles had been driving north on Tranquille, when the first vehicle attempted to make a left turn on Yew Street. The vehicle behind kept driving and rear-ended the other car. The collision pushed the first vehicle into the intersection, while the second carried on ahead until it stopped over a wooden planter box.
The driver of the vehicle that caused the collision was seen walking away from the scene before emergency responders arrived.
