KAMLOOPS — With COVID-19 restrictions preventing traditional public feedback opportunities, the Transportation Ministry is hoping highway users will take a look at some videos explaining the project to widen the Trans-Canada highway through Chase.

The project, which has been in the works for years, will see two segments of the highway expanded to four lanes from Chase Creek Road to Chase West. The highway will also be widened from Chase West to the Chase Creek Bridge.

The province says the work will improve safety and reliability along the highway while providing safer access to local roads and businesses.

Funding for the $260.3 million project will primarily come from the provincial government. The federal government has agreed to provide $12.1 million dollars.

Feedback can be given to provincial officials by emailing chasefourlaning@gov.bc.ca or by calling the Senior Project Manager Maike Schimpf directly at 778 362-4568.
