Drug probe brings RCMP Emergency Response Team to Valleyview

KAMLOOPS — UPDATE: The heavy police presence has dispersed. RCMP plan to release more information either later Thursday (Jan. 7) or tomorrow.

EARLIER: Kamloops RCMP say a heavy presence in Valleyview is taking part in a drug investigation.

RCMP say the local detachment’s Targeted Enforcement Unit has been joined by the Southeast District Emergency Response Team (ERT) at a west Valleyview address.

Police say they don’t expect there will be any danger to the public, but residents are being asked to avoid the area. They note traffic may be rerouted around the area.
