LILLOOET, B.C. — RCMP in Lillooet have recovered a stolen house.

The tiny home, measuring eight feet by 17 feet and mounted on a flat deck trailer, was reported stolen from a seasonal property in the Boston Bar area on December 28.

In the days following, RCMP were unable to track down the home. But last Thursday (Dec. 31), police received a tip that someone had tried to sell a tiny home matching the description of the one stolen earlier that week.

Frontline RCMP officers responded to the seller’s property in Lillooet in place of the buyer. A man was taken into custody and questioned but released without charge at the time.

On Sunday, officers returned to the Lillooet property with a search warrant and found several other items taken from the seasonal property in Boston Bar. Officers also found a generator reported stolen from a Coldstream property in August.

According to a news release, police estimate the value of all the recovered stolen property to be “upwards of $80,000.”

The 48-year-old Lillooet man now faces numerous charges and has a court date set for March 9.
