KAMLOOPS — While we knew several months ago Kamloops would have a record year for construction and permit values in 2020, final figures from the City show that the values in 2020 were more than 100 million dollars more than the previous record, set in 2019.
Just over $395 million worth of permits were issued in 2020, compared to $288 million in 2019.
Commercial construction led the increase in permit values – with tens of millions of dollars in permits issued for the Royal Inland Hospital Patient Care Tower project.
In December, the City issued $18.1 million in permits, up nine per cent from December of 2019.
