RCMP ask for help identifying pair who robbed Sahali store

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP are trying to identify two suspects in an armed robbery at a Sahali store.

According to a release, the incident happened Saturday evening (Jan. 2) at about 6:10 p.m. Officers rushed to the call at a store in the 1200-block of Summit Drive.

Responding officers were told two men walked in a few minutes earlier. One of the men, armed with a knife, approached an employee and demanded money. The second, armed with bear spray, guarded the door.

Suspect #1 Description:

  • All black clothing except for grey pants
  • No gloves
  • Armed with a knife
  • Shaggy or disheveled

Suspect #2 Description:

  • Burnt orange Carhartt jacket and orange face mask
  • Possibly grey hoodie underneath jacket
  • Armed with bear spray
  • Shaggy or disheveled
  • Strong body odour

Investigators used surveillance video to connect the two to a grey SUV. The vehicle, confirmed to be stolen, was located on the North Shore Monday night. No one was inside, but a loaded gun was found in the SUV. A search with the help of a police dog failed to locate the suspects.
