Shoplifting suspect bear sprays Sahali store employees

KAMLOOPS — RCMP are looking for tips after employees at a Sahali store were sprayed with bear spray on New Year’s Day.

According to a news release, Kamloops RCMP were called to a store in the 1100-block of Columbia Street West at about 5:00 p.m. Friday (Jan. 1).

Witnesses told police a man had tried to steal clothing from the store when employees approached him near the store’s exit. That’s when the man released the spray before taking off on foot.

Suspect description:

• White
• About 5’6″ tall
• Facial tattoo
• Wearing a grey bucket hat, black baggy jeans and a red hoodie
