KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP say road checks over the holidays resulted in 21 impaired drivers being taken off the road.

According to a news release, the Counter Attack program included three weekends of road checks. Fourteen of the 21 drivers found impaired by alcohol received driving prohibitions of 90 days and had their vehicles impounded for 30 days. The remaining seven received three-day prohibitions on driving.

The Counter Attack operation also resulted in four separate vehicle impoundments and found one driver who was already prohibited.
