Kamloops starts 2021 with mild temperatures and gusty winds
KAMLOOPS – Mother Nature is providing Kamloops with a warm hug to start the New Year. The temperature has been above the freezing mark since the arrival of 2021 Friday morning.
Temperatures Saturday threatened to break the record high of 10.2 degrees, set in 2007. However, it appears the warm front that has fueled the mild temperatures is about to move on.
“The warm front should exit the region some time tonight,” said Environment Canada Meteorologist Gary Dickinson said. “And when that front moves through, we should expect temperatures to drop.”
The warm temperatures come with gusty southeast winds. As the temperatures drop, so will the speed of the wind gusts.
