Kamloops church to celebrate Christmas Eve with drive-in services

Dec 24, 2020 | 11:14 AM

KAMLOOPS — Many churches in Kamloops will be holding virtual Christmas Eve services, but Motion Church on Fraser Street will be holding a drive-in service.

The church will host two services in their upper parking lot at 4 and 5:30 p.m. Only 50 cars will be permitted at each service and attendees will have to remain in their cars.

Lead Pastor Jonny Strutt says anyone who can’t be there in person will be able to catch the livestream on YouTube, Facebook or the Motion Church Website.

“We’ll be live streaming right from the parking lot,” Strutt said. “Live music outside, we’ve got some videos prerecorded already with some kids to make it a little bit fun. We’ve got special bags for every kid that comes in that we’ll give them into the vehicles as they’re coming in. It’s going to be a special night.”

As of this morning (Dec. 24), there were still a few spots available for the two services, but people were encouraged to sign up ahead of time.

Strutt says it will be a memorable Christmas Eve.

“Everything about this year will be memorable. But I hope also it’s a special and meaningful time for those that come.”
