Winter storm warnings in effect for Coquihalla Highway, Okanagan Connector
MERRITT — Environment Canada is urging drivers to take caution today with winter storm warnings in effect for several Interior highways.
A warning is in effect for the Coquihalla Highway from Hope to Merritt, and Highway 3 – Hope to Princeton via Allison Pass. Snow is expected to begin early Monday morning and intensify before tapering off Monday evening. The forecaster says snowfall amounts could range between 25 to 35 cm.
A winter storm warning is also in effect for the Okanagan Connector from Merritt to Kelowna, with heavy snowfall projected to begin Monday.
And in the Nicola and Boundary regions, Environment Canada is projecting 15-20 cm of snowfall in higher terrain areas.
