Crash slows traffic along Coquihalla

KAMLOOPS – There was a fiery crash along the Coquihalla highway near the Lac Le Jeune turnoff this morning (Dec. 16).

Kamloops Fire and Rescue (KFR) was called out after a truck’s axle broke away, crossed the median and struck an oncoming vehicle. The truck exploded into flames. A woman in the car and the driver of the truck were not injured.

KFR slowed traffic in the area until the wreckage could be removed from the highway. The incident occurred around 6:30 a.m.
