100 MILE HOUSE, B.C. — The organizer of an anti-mask protest in downtown 100 Mile House may be subject to thousands of dollars in fines.

According to 100 Mile House RCMP, the protest took place on Saturday (Dec. 5) at 11:00 a.m. Mounties observing the event counted at least 65 people in attendance, all in violation of various restrictions put in place by Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry.

RCMP also noted a single counter-protester positioned across from the group and wearing the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Investigators identified the organizer of the event and say they will be speaking with that person this week. RCMP say the organizer could be subject to fines of upward of $3,000. Any participant could be fined $230 or more.
