SICAMOUS — Mounties in Sicamous are asking for the public’s help as they work to identify the person responsible for a recent robbery.

Sgt. Murray McNeil says in a release Sicamous RCMP responded to a report of a robbery around 1:30 a.m on Sunday (Dec. 6) at the 7-Eleven store near Rauma Crescent.

Police say a lone suspect entered the store, and demanded money and cigarettes from the employee working behind the counter. No weapon was reportedly produced during this interaction. The suspect then fled the store with a small amount of cash and cigarettes.

RCMP arrived on scene within minutes of the report and the police canine team was brought in from the Vernon North Okanagan Police Dog Services to track down the suspect, but officers were unable to find him.
