Deja vu for City of Kamloops crews as second water main break hits Valleyview, Juniper Ridge

KAMLOOPS — It’s gone from bad to worse for City of Kamloops crews who repaired a major water main break in Valleyview overnight.

According to a City news release, a second break took place earlier Friday (Dec. 4). This time, the City expects its crews to have the break fixed by late Saturday afternoon.

That means Juniper Ridge residents served by the line are once again being asked to reduce water use. Utility Services Manager Greg Wightman says that will help ensure the neighbourhood maintains an adequate water supply.

Water reduction measures include not running washing machines, dishwashers or taking long showers. Motorists are asked to slow down as crews work on the break along Highland Drive.
