Thompson Inn fire
“Suspicious” fire cause smoke damage at downtown hotel
Dec 3, 2020 | 7:45 AM
KAMLOOPS — 20 firefighters and several trucks worked quickly overnight to put out what is being determined as a “suspicious” fire at the Thompson Inn in the 600 block Victoria Street.
Fire crews were called about 12:45 this morning (Dec 3). The fire originated in the storage area of the parking structure, and while crews were able to contain the blaze to the storage area, there was extensive smoke damage to some of the rooms above the parking area and more minor smoke damage to the Noble Pig pub located right next door.
No one was injured, fortunately. It took about three hours for crews to make sure the fire was completely out. Fire investigators will be on the scene this morning trying to determine a precise cause.
