Accident creates power outage in Valleyview and Dallas

KAMLOOPS — An accident on the Trans Canada Highway near the Lafarge turnoff at Campbell Creek has knocked out the power to 1244 Hydro customers this morning (Monday).

The power’s been off since just before 6:30 AM. What’s been described as a U-Haul type trailer left the highway and wound up in the ditch. On its way over the bank, it smacked into a power pole.

The Dallas-Valleyview business strip has been hardest hit by the outage. It’s expected to be at least 8:00 AM before power is back on.

Kamloops Fire and Rescue says they don’t have any word on injuries at this point, but everone inside the vehicle was out when they arrived.
