Kamloops Fire Rescue battles blaze on North Shore

KAMLOOPS – A fire has destroyed a small abandoned building along the 100 block Tranquille Road.

Kamloops Fire Rescue Platoon Captain Wade Lindoff says the first call of the fire was received at 7:15 Sunday morning. When crews arrived, the boarded-up building was already fully engulfed in flames.

14 firefighters managed to prevent the fire from spreading to neighbouring buildings. However three vehicles suffered heavy damage in the blaze.

RCMP responded to the fire and supported firefighters with crowd and traffic control. One B.C. Ambulance crew also attended however there were no injuries.

Fire investigators will be on-scene Monday to try to determine the cause of the fire. The building was not serviced by electricity or gas.
