ICBC, police team up to launch CounterAttack road checks this weekend
VICTORIA — Although COVID-19 will make the upcoming holiday season unlike any other, one thing won’t change — holiday road checks.
ICBC says the annual holiday CounterAttack campaign will get started this weekend with police road checks planned all across the province.
While the events that typically lead to impaired driving may be minimized in 2020, ICBC’s Lindsay Matthews says those who imbibe still need to plan ahead if they want to go somewhere.
“If you’ve been drinking at home, please stay home and don’t drive,” Matthews said in a news release. “When you drink and drive, you not only risk your life but those of others on the road. We all need to do our part to prevent crashes and save lives. If you plan to drink, plan ahead.”
