VICTORIA — Premier John Horgan’s new cabinet was sworn in Thursday afternoon (Nov. 26).

The executive council includes a mix of new and familiar faces.

Adrian Dix retains the health portfolio, David Eby remains attorney general and Mike Farnworth will continue as minister of public safety and solicitor general.

One of the biggest promotions went to Selina Robinson, who is the new minister of finance, moving from housing. Robinson succeeds the now-retired Carole James.

Rookie MLA Jennifer Whiteside was given the tough education portfolio, while former MP Murray Rankin takes over Indigenous relations. Rob Fleming moves from education to transportation.

Former MP Nathan Cullen, a star recruit for Horgan in the 2020 election, was given minister of state for lands and natural resource operations. He will work with new Forests Minister Katrine Conroy.

Lieutenant-Governor Janet Austin swore in all cabinet members via video link, with the exception of Horgan and Eby who were present with her.
