Woman charged after child slammed with watermelon near Adams Lake
CHASE, B.C. β An Alberta woman has been charged with assault after a summertime incident when a child was hit over the head with a watermelon.
According to Chase RCMP, the incident happened August 16 at the Bush Creek Campground in Adams Lake Provincial Park. A family was camping with friends at the site when an argument broke out.
When the dispute turned physical, one family determined it was best to leave.
The complainant told police just before they left, her friend approached her 10-year-old son holding out a half-watermelon as if to give it to him.
