PacificSport Interior announces funding for local sport organizations and registered athletes
KAMLOOPS — PacificSport Interior BC is providing two funding grants to help during the pandemic. Local Sport Organizations in the Interior BC region which includes Golden, Revelstoke, Sicamous, Salmon Arm, Chase, Kamloops, Merritt, Lytton, Lillooet, Savona, 100 Mile House, Clearwater, Barriere, Sun Peaks, the smaller rural communities in between and the Indigenous nations in the region will have a chance to apply for consideration.
The Local Sport Funding Support is for 10 organizations who will receive $2,500 each and PacificSport Interior BC will adjudicate all applications. Groups will submit a Letter of Intent and there is no restrictions on where the funding is best suited for, as the organization will provide details in their submissions.
The second funding envelope is for PacificSport Interior BC registered athletes who can apply for support they may need, whether that be for training, equipment or other areas that the athlete deem necessary for their performance pathway.
“We are thrilled to be able to offer support to local sport groups and athletes as we know many have been hit hard with the pandemic ”, says PacificSport Interior BC Executive Director Carolynn Boomer. “As a not for profit organization, PacificSport Interior BC prides itself on doing whatever we can to support the good people in our sport system and these are two ways we can provide some relief,” continued Boomer.
The application process will be for those eligible to submit a Letter of Intent to PacificSport Interior BC by 4:00 pm on January 15th, 2021 by email to cboomer@pacificsport.com
