Wilkinson stepping down as BC Liberal leader
KAMLOOPS – BC Liberal leader Andrew Wilkinson is stepping down as the party leader.
In a facebook post Saturday, Wilkinson says it has been an honour to sit as the Leader of the Opposition for the past three years.
Wilkinson says he welcomes the selection of an interim leader from the BC Liberal caucus. He adds the party needs to rebuild and renew and believes Liberals need to have some tough conversations about the future of the party.
Shortly after the provincial election, Wilkinson announced his resignation as the party leader, but said he would continue to fill the role as the party leader until a leadership convention could select his successor.
